The Bimbadgen Estate range of wines from Bimbadgen consist of classic Hunter Valley varietals crafted in a traditional style from within Australia’s oldest wine region - the Hunter Valley.

Ripe plum and pepper aromas of this Shiraz are softened by some floral sweetness. The generous palate delivers flavours of pepper, black berries and cigar oak. An elegant yet firm tannin structure allows this wine to be enjoyed now, or be rewarded from careful cellaring. the perfrect accompaniment to all red meat dishes.

    The fruit for this Shiraz was grown on Bimbadgen’s two vineyards in the Hunter Valley situated on McDonalds Road and Palmers Lane, Pokolbin.
  • Picked:
    The fruit for this Shiraz was grown on Bimbadgen’s two vineyards in the Hunter Valley situated on McDonalds Road and Palmers Lane, Pokolbin.
  • Made:
    Crushed and destemmed into 8 tonne fermenters and left to cold soak for 2 days to assist in colour extraction. Inoculation with a selected yeast strain to carry out the fermentation which peaked at 32 degrees C. The ferment was pumped over twice daily to encourage tannin extraction before being pressed off skins and transferred to oak barrels for malo-lactic fermentation. Maturation in oak barrels lasted 12 months before blending and bottling.

    Alcohol: 13.5% T/A: 6.5 g/L pH: 3.45
  • Appearance:
    Dark red with purple tints.
  • Aroma:
    Red berries and dark cherries with a hint of vanilla oak sweetness.
  • Palate:
    Fruit is generous with dark cherry flavours, some black pepper spice and cigar oak flavours. Firm fruit and oak tannins give ample structure to a savoury, food friendly Shiraz.
  • Cellaring:
    Medium term (3 – 5 years) under careful conditions
  • Food:
    The perfect accompaniment to all red meat dishes.
