The Bimbadgen Estate range of wines from Bimbadgen consist of classic Hunter Valley varietals crafted in a traditional style from within Australia’s oldest wine region - the Hunter Valley.

This Verdelho exhibits a fruity bouquet of tropical fruit with a hint of ginger spice. The palate is alive with fresh tropical fruit salad flavours with a touch of lemon citrus. An ideal accompaniment to dishes such as salads or roast pork, this Verdelho is created in a style that is best when fresh and lively.

  • Grown:
    Sourced from two of Pokolbin’s finest Verdelho vineyards in the Lower Hunter Valley, the Somerset vineyard on Oakey Creek Road and Benwarin Vineyard on Mistletoe Lane.
  • Picked:
    Both vineyards were machine harvested on 28th January 2011.
  • Made:
    After crushing-destemming, the grape must was drained and pressed and the resultant juice cold settled. We pay careful attention to handling the varietal phenolics in the juice stage. This wine was then fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks. Blending the two parcels shortly before bottling gives us flexibility to achieve the best balance and an early bottling maintains freshness.

    Alcohol: 13% T/A: 7.0 g/l pH: 3.20
  • Appearance:
    Medium straw-green.
  • Aroma:
    Lime blossom citrus aromas with ginger spice.
  • Palate:
    Fresh pineapple and passionfruit with creamy sherbet flavours are well balanced with green apple acidity.
  • Cellaring:
    Drink now whilst fresh and lively.
  • Food:
    An ideal accompaniment to dishes such as salads or roast pork.
