The Bimbadgen Regions range of wines consist of a diverse selection of varietals chosen from regions known or identified for their superior quality and expression of flavour.

This Shiraz Viognier blend from Orange in NSW displays floral and red berry spice aromas, delivering a medium bodied palate full of cherry and spice flavours, balanced with integrated fruit and oak tannins. Made in a style ready to be enjoyed with a range of red meat dishes such as lamb.

  • Grown:
    The majority (>85%) of the fruit came from the Orange region of NSW – in particular, the Angullong Vineyard.
  • Picked:
    Grapes for this blend were machine harvested in the cooler times of the day in order to preserve the natural fruit aromas and flavours.
  • Made:
    Varieties were individually fermented (the Shiraz was warm fermented, the Viognier cool fermented), the wines were blended post fermentation and malo-lactic fermentation, after the Shiraz had spent 12 months in oak barriques.
  • Bottled:
    November 2010.
  • Analysis:
    Alcohol: 14.5% T/A: 6 g/L pH: 3.51 Shiraz: 93% Viognier: 7%
  • Appearance:
    Medium to dark red.
  • Aroma:
    Pepper, red berry, some vanillin along with a floral spice.
  • Palate:
    Medium bodied showing nutty, cherry and blackberry flavours. Firm tannins are well balanced.
  • Cellaring:
    Short to medium term (3 – 5 years) under ideal cellaring conditions.
  • Food Match:
    Match this wine to a range of red meat dishes, especially lamb.
