  • Grown:
Grown predominantly at Bimbadgen’s contract Myall Road vineyard, Yenda, in South East Australia. The vineyard comprises 100 acres of premium grapes, and was planted using the most up to date laser levelling techniques with drip irrigation and modern trellising design ensuring quality yields suitable for premium wine production. This fruit was then blended with approximately 1/3 fruit sourced from the Hunter Valley.
  • Picked:
All parcels were machine picked in cool conditions. They were harvested at optimal ripeness levels for sparkling wine productions, between 10-12 Baume.
  • Made:
Specific winemaking techniques for sparkling and rose production were followed. Reds were ‘bled’ off initial fermentation to retain the salmon pink colour and fresh fruit characters. Made entirely from the secondary fermentation process, using the charmat tank fermentation method, the juice was cold fermented and kept in stainless steel storage to retain maximum fruit flavours.
  • Bottled:
As a non vintage blend it is bottled two to three times during each calendar year – currently November 2010.
  • Analysis:
    Alcohol: 11.5 %
  • Appearance:
Pale salmon pink with a fine bead.
  • Aroma:
Highly aromatic bouquet of strawberries with nuances of yeast creaminess adding to the overall complexity.
  • Palate:
The palate is alive with bright flavours of creamy red berries with a fine, mouthfilling mousse. This is well balanced by zingy fruit acidity.
  • Cellaring:
Enjoy whilst young and fresh over the next two years.
  • Food Match:
Ideal aperitif style. A great accompaniment to canapés or tapas.
  • Awards:
BRONZE - 2011 New Zealand International Wine Show. BRONZE - 2011 Speigelau International Wine Competition NZ.
