- Vintage Notes
McDonalds Road 2019 Shiraz is slightly lighter in style than 2018. Being a drought year you would expect greater depth and weight to the wine, in this case we had to make quick decisions as the extreme heat was drying all the moisture out of the berries, so we picked much earlier than usual and in turn have created a lighter style yet still very supple, well structured and enjoyable Shiraz.
- Tasting Notes
Fruit crushed into stainless steel fermenter and inoculated with a neutral yeast strain. Regular pump overs for colour and tannin extraction throughout fermentation before being pressed into French oak barriques
- Colour
Dark crimson
- Bouquet
Lifted red & blue berry and oak spice
- Palate
Elegantly structured dark plum and red fruits with a hint of blueberry, integrated oak carried by silky tannins and supple acidity
- Peak Drinking / Cellaring Potential
5 - 10 years
