Bimbadgen at the 2026 PKF Hunter Valley Wine Show
The 2026 PKF Hunter Valley Wine Show once again brought together producers from across the region to recognise the wines, vineyards and winemakers shaping the Hunter Valley today.
As Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley has a long and celebrated winemaking history. The annual Wine Show remains an important fixture on the regional calendar, providing an opportunity for local wines to be assessed alongside their peers across varieties, vintages and styles.
For Bimbadgen, this year’s show resulted in three Gold Medals, all awarded to wines originating from our Palmers Lane vineyard in Pokolbin.
Bimbadgen Gold Medals were awarded to:
- Bimbadgen Signature Palmers Lane 2014 Semillon
- Bimbadgen Single Vineyard Palmers Lane 2024 Chardonnay
- Bimbadgen Single Vineyard Palmers Lane 2024 Shiraz
Three Wines from Palmers Lane
The three Gold Medal wines span different varieties and vintages, offering three distinct expressions of the Palmers Lane site.
The Bimbadgen Signature Palmers Lane 2014 Semillon demonstrates the ageing potential synonymous with Hunter Valley Semillon. More than a decade after vintage, the wine remains vibrant and lively, showing preserved lemon, kaffir lime and baked shortbread alongside fine, saline acidity and developing complexity.
The Bimbadgen Single Vineyard Palmers Lane 2024 Chardonnay represents a younger expression of the vineyard. White peach, citrus blossom and flint lead into concentrated stone fruit, saline acidity and a long, refined finish. Subtle French oak provides structure while allowing the fruit to remain at the forefront.
Meanwhile, the Bimbadgen Single Vineyard Palmers Lane 2024 Shiraz received Gold Medal recognition across one of the Hunter Valley’s defining red varieties, adding another expression of the Palmers Lane vineyard to this year’s results.
An Important Day for Hunter Valley Wine
Beyond individual medals and trophies, the PKF Hunter Valley Wine Show plays an important role in bringing the region’s wine community together and showcasing the diversity of wines being produced across the Hunter Valley.
The show provides a valuable benchmark for producers and an opportunity to recognise the vineyards, varieties and winemaking styles that continue to define the region.
For Bimbadgen, three Gold Medals across Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz provide a strong result from this year’s judging and highlight the breadth of wines being produced from Palmers Lane.
We congratulate all of the wineries, winemakers, viticulturists and teams recognised at the 2026 PKF Hunter Valley Wine Show and look forward to seeing the continued evolution of Hunter Valley wine.
