2023 Hunter Valley Wine Show Trophy – Best Single Vineyard White. A wine designed to age – this will cellar well for the next decade or more. Pale, quartz with green hues. Lifted purfume of white flowers, lemongrass and green apple. The palate is defined by juicy lemon lime acidity, framing a chalky minerality.

"The grapes came from Bimbadgen Estate’s Palmers Lane vineyard in central Pokolbin. A special selection by winemaker Rauri Donkin, matured for re-release by the winery. Light to mid yellow colour, the bouquet presenting buttery toast aromas of great charm and complexity, a touch of green herb deep within, and a little resiny character from bottle-age on top of gently herbaceous fruit.   • Vintage Notes

    At the time of harvest, 2014 was regarded as one of the greatest vintages the Hunter Valley had seen. Near perfect growing conditions allowed the winemaking team to harvest precisely as the fruit achieved maturity and balance. Looking back at the finished wines, our initial assessment appears correct. A true collectors vintage.

  • Tasting Notes

    Free run juice was cold settled overnight for clarification, leaving a crystal clear juice which was inoculated with a selected yeast strain. Fermentation proceeded in stainless steel tank at 14-16°C, helping to retain the purity of flavour and varietal aromas of Semillon. The wine was left on yeast lees for a short time post fermentation prior to fining, filtration and bottling.

    Light to medium yellow.

  • Bouquet

    Preserved lemon, kaffir lime, baked shortbread with sea-spray fragrance.

  • Palate

    At 11 years of age, the wine remains vibrant and lively. The mouth watering saline-like, fine acid core supports full and complex flavours of ripe citrus and baked pastry hints.

I acknowledge that the Bimbadgen Social Club one (1) year membership will be automatically renewed and charged on the renewal date unless otherwise stated. A $40 fee will be charged to the card supplied upon joining. The membership fee is non-refundable if cancelled within the membership year.

The Social Club does not include regular automated deliveries like our other clubs. Upon purchasing the one-year membership, you will receive a coupon for one (1) free bottle of Sparkling Semillon. This offer can only be redeemed online. The coupon code may take up to one week to be emailed to you.

I understand that Bimbadgen reserves the right to discontinue this membership program or alter its terms in the future, including changes to the cost of the membership and/or freight charges. Members will be notified in writing of any such changes. I agree to notify Bimbadgen in writing if I wish to cancel my membership at any time after the minimum membership commitment has passed.

Wine Society terms and conditions

I acknowledge that membership in the Bimbadgen Wine Society requires a minimum commitment of one (1) year, during which I agree to purchase two (2) x 12-bottle cases of wine per year from Bimbadgen’s range, delivered in March and September.

I authorise Bimbadgen to debit the credit card supplied during each of the allocation months listed above. If I do not make my personal wine selection by the requested date specified in the allocation notification email, I agree to be charged $231 and to receive the Seasonal Winemaker’s Pack.

I acknowledge that Bimbadgen will notify me of the charge date via email prior to each allocation month.

I understand that Bimbadgen reserves the right to discontinue this membership program or alter its terms at any time, including changes to wine pricing and/or freight charges. Members will be notified in writing of any such changes.
