Bimbadgen: The Year That Was 2025
As 2025 has drawn to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a remarkable year across Bimbadgen Estate. From our vineyards to our cellar doors, and from our wines to the experiences we’ve shared with our region, it has been a year full of growth and memorable moments.
Wines to Remember
2025 was a standout year for Bimbadgen’s wines, marked by exceptional results on both regional and international stages. We were honoured to bring home five prestigious trophies across three highly respected wine shows, a testament to the quality of our vineyards and the dedication of our winemaking team
At the 2025 PKF Hunter Valley Wine Show, the region’s most respected showcase of winemaking excellence, our 2024 Single Vineyard Palmers Lane Semillon was awarded the Karl Stockhausen Trophy for Best One Year Old Semillon. This is a significant achievement in a region internationally renowned for Semillon, further reinforced by three additional gold medals awarded to other Bimbadgen wines.
The same 2024 Single Vineyard Palmers Lane Semillon continued its success at the 2025 Hunter Boutique Wine Show, securing the trophy for Best 2024 Semillon. This boutique show focuses on Hunter Valley producers crushing under 350 tonnes, celebrating precision, quality and regional expression. Bimbadgen was also recognised with further trophies for the 2024 Growers Vermentino in the Dry White Other Varieties and Blends category, and the 2023 Single Vineyard Palmers Lane Chardonnay in the Open Vintage Chardonnay category.
On the international stage, the Signature 2014 Palmers Lane Semillon was awarded a trophy at the Global Fine Wine Challenge, a competition showcasing the best of New World wine regions including Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and South Africa. Winning Best Non-Aromatic White, this accolade saw Hunter Valley Semillon shine against a field of global entries and added to an already impressive list of honours for this wine, including the Len Evans Trophy for Best Single Vineyard White at the 2023 Hunter Valley Wine Show.
Experiences & Community
Beyond the vineyards, 2025 has been a year of connection. From intimate tastings and cellar door experiences to large-scale events and concerts, we were thrilled to welcome visitors and share the magic of Bimbadgen Estate. Major concerts including The Script, Roxette and Jimmy Barnes brought our region together in celebration, combining world-class music with great wine, food and the unmistakable atmosphere of the Hunter Valley.
It was also a standout year for Esca Restaurant, which hosted a diverse calendar of events including the Esca Speakeasy Night, Murder Mystery Dinner, the members-exclusive Winery By Night experience, the Melbourne Cup Luncheon, and the Hunter Culinary Association Spring Lunch. The year concluded with a memorable New Year’s Eve celebration, showcasing not only Esca’s refined dining offering but the versatility and creativity of the team behind it.
Beyond the Estate, Bimbadgen wines were proudly showcased through a series of intimate food and wine pairings alongside respected dining destinations including Humbug in Newcastle, Boilerhouse at Q Station in Manly and Rick Stein at Bannisters in Port Stephens. These collaborations offered the opportunity to present our wines in new settings, matched thoughtfully with diverse and distinctive flavours, and to connect with audiences beyond the Hunter Valley through shared dining experiences.
