2020 General Manager Wrap Up
2020 General Manager Wrap Up
2020 – WOW what a year. If someone told me I would be taking on the General Manager’s role of a great winery in the middle of a pandemic – I would never have believed them, yet here we are.
In May this year I was welcomed to the Bimbadgen business as General Manager. I joined a passionate and experienced team of people who had banded together to get through COVID-19 restrictions and do their best to improve what Bimbadgen has to offer its members, its direct customers and the surrounding region. Whilst you can’t underestimate what a challenging time it has been, I could not be any more proud of the team in what we have achieved over the last 8 months.
We are very pleased to now be able to offer our members and day customers a renovated and refreshed Cellar Door with a great new tasting format that is designed around COVID safe practices and a very personalised tasting. Plus a renovated and re-launched Esca Restaurant with a fantastic new menu style – which I know many of our members have already enjoyed!
Sadly due to COVID-19, in 2020 we weren’t able to offer any members events or much in the way of events, so instead, we got creative and held a number of special sales events for our members and mailing list. This meant you were able to enjoy more back vintages, special releases and even better – special pricing. We will continue to expand these sales events to include special members events here at Bimbadgen throughout 2021, giving you more opportunity to meet the team, enjoy winery experiences and take us up on the best pricing possible. We had a ball showcasing our very first markets here at Bimbadgen with the wonderful team at Homegrown markets. They created a fantastic market event with huge success and we look forward to sharing some market dates next year.
Through all of these challenges, closures, re-opening, and renovations, we have managed to grow the team and welcome many new team members who all have a fantastic spirit and love welcoming our members and guests. 2021 will see us continue to focus on training and growing the team so that they can offer our members and visitors an even better experience.
As we head in the Christmas and New Year period, we wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your support through this crazy year. And to take a moment to think about the people and businesses that are still struggling through the flow on effects of COVID-19 or our overseas families and friends that are in the thick of it. From all of our team here at Bimbadgen, we want to wish you all a wonderful and safe holiday period. We look forward to welcoming you all in 2021 and are eager to share with you in the New Year even more exciting projects for 2021.
Best Holiday wishes,
General Manager, Bimbadgen
